A Stylish Montreal Retreat: Getting Cozy in the Helio Suite at Humaniti Hotel, Autograph Collection
Montreal is always a great idea for a quick escape. It’s a city where European flair meets North American innovation, and it never runs out of things to see or delicious things to eat. If you’re planning a trip soon, I wanted to tell you about the Humaniti Hotel. It’s a special spot, mainly because it was the first Marriott Autograph Collection hotel to open in Quebec.
The entire hotel has a bold, sophisticated design, created through a collaboration between Andres Escobar and Lemay_id. They’ve built something they call a “Smart Vertical Community.” This simply means the building blends hotel living with residential spaces, creating a vibrant feeling of connection right in the heart of downtown.
For our stay, we settled into the Helio Suite, and it was a fantastic choice. The suite offers 377 square feet of wonderfully designed space. It’s incredibly roomy and bright, especially with those beautiful floor-to-ceiling windows that give you great urban views of the city.
Waking up in the King bed and having a separate sitting area with an oversized chair and sofa made the space feel more like a comfortable, well-organized apartment than a typical hotel room. I really appreciated the small, thoughtful touches, like the Nespresso machine for morning coffee and the included robe and slippers. For a moment of quiet, they even offer a complimentary immersive forest meditation experience, complete with calming soundscapes and visuals, which was a lovely way to unwind after a busy day exploring downtown.
The hotel itself is a huge part of the experience. Walking through the public areas, you’ll notice art everywhere. There are over 150 contemporary works by Canadian artists throughout the space, which adds a really unique and engaging character to the atmosphere.
During the warmer months, you definitely want to spend some time by the seasonal outdoor rooftop pool on the ninth floor. It’s a wonderful spot to relax, take a dip, and get a fresh perspective on the Montreal skyline, perhaps with a snack and a drink in hand. If you’re looking to stay active, the Hyper Gym is open 24/7 and includes high-quality NOHrD wooden fitness equipment.
For evening plans, the hotel has a beautiful Japanese-inspired bar called Hiba. They serve delicate izakaya dishes alongside signature cocktails and refined sake. Plus, if you appreciate wine, you might be interested to know that the hotel has a curated wine cellar with more than 6,000 bottles.
One thing I truly valued was how focused the Humaniti Hotel is on being responsible and eco-conscious. They aim for a paperless experience in the rooms and include small, meaningful details, like refillable water carafes instead of single-use plastic bottles.
Even the BeeKind bath products, which smell fantastic, are part of the hotel’s commitment, as the brand supports honeybee research. This careful attention to sustainability proves that true luxury can also be mindful of the environment.
The Humaniti Hotel isn’t just a comfortable spot in the city, it feels like an intentional experience. It manages to feel both sophisticated and genuinely human, which really lives up to its name.
