Carnaval del Sol 2023: A Celebration of Latin American Culture in Vancouver

Carnaval del Sol is the biggest Latin American festival in the Pacific Northwest, and it’s returning to Vancouver for its 15th year in 2023. The 3-day festival is happening at David Lam Park in Yaletown. This year’s festival celebrates Colombian culture with a variety of workshops, performances, and culinary delights.

Carnaval del Sol is a fun event to experience the rich and diverse culture of Latin America, and it’s a must-visit for anyone who loves Latin music, food, and dance. There are more than 420 performers who will take to the stage throughout the weekend, showcasing Latin rock, salsa, merengue, and other performances.

One- and two-day passes are available, with free admission for kids under 12 and seniors 65+. A two-day VIP Experience Pass includes fast-track access to the Beer Plaza and an invitation to the VIP Plaza.

Here are some of the highlights of Carnaval del Sol:

Main Stage del Sol: This stage hosts the biggest and best performances of the festival, featuring Latin rock, traditional dances, folklore, beats of salsa and merengue.

Market Plaza: This plaza is a great place to find unique souvenirs, clothing, jewelry, and artwork from Latin America.

Food Plaza: This plaza features over 33 different Latin American dishes from 11 different countries.
