Dine Strathcona community initiative supports local restaurants and WISH Drop-In Centre

Belgard Kitchen – Wagyu Bavette Steak

The 2nd annual Dine Strathcona, formerly Dine Railtown, is happening now until November 30. Let’s support Strathcona’s restaurants, cafes and breweries while raising funds for WISH Drop-In Centre critical services and resources for marginalized and vulnerable members of the community, including a 24-hour drop-in centre where they serve over 9000 meals a month, emergency shelter, Mobile Access Project Van, and employment programs.

During Dine Strathcona, $1 from each featured dish ordered by dine-in, take out or delivery will be donated to WISH Drop-In Centre. This year’s Dine Strathcona participating restaurants and featured dishes:

Ask For Luigi – Fried Cauliflower and Chickpeas with saffron aioli, mint, lemon, parmesan

Axum Ethiopian Restaurant – Vegetarian Combo with yellow split peas, red lentils, cabbage & carrot and spinach simmered in a mild and spicy sauce

Belgard Kitchen – Wagyu Bavette Steak with barley koji marinade, tallow roasted fingerling potatoes, black garlic. Gluten free & dairy free

Container Brewing – Rarebit with bechamel sauce served over slices of toasted bread, with roasted oyster mushrooms and sharp cheddar cheese

Dosanko Restaurant – Wild Mushroom Doria with Wild mushrooms (chanterelle, lobster mushroom), roasted garlic white sauce, onion, rice

Harken Coffee – Japanese Vegan Curry with rice and curry sauce with local mushrooms, pickled daikon, and puffed rice topping

Hastings Mill Brewing – Company Chicken Tacos with trio of seasoned chicken tacos with shredded lettuce, diced tomato, fresh cilantro and pico de gallo

HoliDrink Cafe – Pegobo Noodle & HoliDrink Spicy Ginger with ramen noodle soup with prawn, egg, garlic, onion, and bok choy, paired with all natural spicy ginger drink, a HoliDrink specialty

LanaLou’s Restaurant – Cheeseburger & Fries with all beef patty or veggie patty (mushroom swiss) topped with triple cheddar, spinach, tomato, garlic mayo on a warm toasted brioche bun. Served with hand cut fries.

Luppolo Brewing Company – Funghi Pizza with Tomato sauce, fior di latte, mushroom, truffle oil, goat cheese

Pallet Coffee Roasters – House made grilled cheese (vegetarian or meat option available) with any regular sized specialty beverage

Railtown Cafe – The Winter Kale with baby kale, black rice, shaved apple, roasted yams, red onion, feta, dried cranberries, egyptian dukkah and aged sherry vinaigrette

Strathcona Beer Company – Margherita Pizza with Tomato Sauce, Mozzarella, Fior de Latte, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Basil, Padano

SuperFlux Beer Company – Roasted Cabbage with Beef and Duck Bolognese with roasted cabbage served with organic beef & duck bolognese and black vinegar

The Garden – Mushroom Bowl with mushrooms, peas, wild rice, brown rice, black kale, pickled beets, pickled carrots, pickled mushrooms and pumpkin seeds. Vegan & Gluten Free.

The Uncommon Cafe – Green Cheese & Yam Pizza with roasted yam rounds, marinara, jalapeño and herbed ricotta

VV Tapas Lounge – Warm Cauliflower Dip with served with cashews, olives and bread.
