Kayak launches emoji travel search

KAYAK just launched their new travel search by emoji feature. This allows users to search for specific cities with corresponding emojis including: 🍁 (Maple Leaf) for Toronto, 🗽(Statue of Liberty) for NYC; 🎰 (slot machine) for Las Vegas.

In addition to this feature, the top cities in the world are going head-to-head for the rights to some of the most popular emojis. Fans can visit www.kayak.com/emoji to vote for the city they think is most deserving of emojis like the beer mug, pizza and guitar. Canada’s right in on the action with Vancouver competing for the skis. There are 16 categories in total, and just for fun KAYAK has one open-ended category: the smiling poop emoji.

Voting will conclude on July 13, 2017 and the champion city will be revealed on July 17, just in time for World Emoji Day. On the 17th, KAYAK will also make the country flag emojis searchable, bringing the total number of searchable emojis on KAYAK to over 250.
