Easter Weekend at Fairmont Royal York: Brunch, Blooms, and a Golden Surprise

If you’re in Toronto over Easter weekend and want a special way to celebrate, head to the Fairmont Royal York. The lobby alone makes it worth a stop.

They’ve installed a massive, sculptural Easter egg right in the entrance, covered in delicate seasonal touches and topped with a canopy of pink blooming branches. It screams spring renewal the moment you walk in. Snap a photo, soak it up, then head to REIGN Restaurant for the real draw.

Easter brunch at REIGN runs April 4 and 5 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. It’s à la carte, so you pick what you want without the buffet rush. Standouts include the Lobster & Polenta Benedict with crispy polenta cakes and citrus hollandaise, a Porchetta Croque Madame on French toast–style brioche with black truffle mornay and a fried egg, and slow-braised Lamb Shank with spring veggies. For something sweet, the Tiramisu Pancake Stack comes topped with mini chocolate eggs.

The best part? You can add a handcrafted chocolate Golden Egg for $75. Executive Pastry Chef Kapila makes them, inspired by that lobby installation. They bring it to your table, crack it open, and inside there’s a sweet surprise. A few lucky eggs hide a golden ticket for a weekend stay at Fairmont Gold. Only thirty exist, so pre-order when you book brunch.

If brunch doesn’t fit, REIGN offers Easter dinner specials April 3–5. Think braised Lamb Shoulder with truffled mashed potatoes or a Chilean seabass “chateaubriand” for two with Tomato Béarnaise, a fun twist on the classic.

For a lighter option, Easter Afternoon Tea returns to the Clockwork Lobby Lounge those same days, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. House-made scones (traditional and cranberry), savoury sandwiches, spring pastries, and Fairmont’s curated tea blends. Live music, too.
