Every year on November 11th, singles from all over the world celebrate being young, wild and free during Singles’ Day, the day that encourages solo travel as a fantastic adventure like no other.

Two fifths (43%) of Canadian travellers reported in a recent Booking.com study that they’d like to visit a destination that none of their friends have been to before. Singles’ Day may be the perfect time to get that jump on your clique and venture out on your own for an adventure to remember. Bring a book, good music, and an open mind, and start exploring some of the world’s best places to visit as a party of one.

City Trip – Portland, USA

Known for its quirky food trucks, delicious doughnuts, unbeatable craft beer scene and stunning surrounding nature, the bike-friendly city of Portland, Oregon is full of friendly people and activities you’ve always wanted to, but never got around to doing — perfect for solo travellers. 31% of Canadian travellers plan to visit a destination that make them feel like a kid again in 2019, according to recent Booking.com research. Portland may be the perfect destination to bring that youthful experience travellers seem to be craving.
