The Force is back! On September 1st, Best Buy unveiled the latest Star Wars: The Last Jedi products across Canada. The Last Jedi is the eighth movie in the Star Wars saga written and directed by Rian Johnson. The upcoming film marks the return of Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker and scheduled to be released in theatres on December 15, 2017.

Star Wars fans attended the global celebration of Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi at Cambie Best Buy. Force Force II was held in 12 countries and 15 cities. Fans got a first look at the new toys, collectibles and gadgets inspired by the trilogy.

Fans dressed up as their favourite Star Wars hero or villain and went on an augmented reality treasure hunt. From the Star Wars app, you can activate the new Find the Force feature. When you scan the Find the Force QR code, a Star Wars character will appear on your smartphone’s display. You can take photos and videos along side the augmented reality character.

There are 15 characters to collect. You can unlock new AR character experiences at participating Best Buy stores across Canada.

Sphero R2-D2, BB-9E & BB-8

Sphero launched two new droids: R2-D2 and BB-9E, BB-8’s evil twin. The smart robots can act autonomously and interact together. You can also control the droid with the Sphero App-Enabled Droids app and go on an augmented reality adventure. Each droid has different holographic environments to explore.

littleBits Droid Inventor Kit

Younger fans can built their own custom droid and bring it to life using the the littleBits Droid Inventor Kit. You can teach your R2-D2 droid new tricks and abilities. You can go on 16 missions across the Star Wars universe. Force Drive allows you to guide your droid with a wave of your hand.

Propel Collector’s Edition Star Wars Battle Drones

Propel released new limited collector’s edition T-65 X-Wing Starfighter, Darth Vader’s TIE Advanced x1 and a 74-Z speeder bike battling drones. You can engage in multiplayer laser battles. You can pilot the high-performances quadrocopters at speed of 50 km/h. Each Propel Star Wars drone is hand painted, certified, numbered and packed in a collectable display box.
