TEDxVancouver Announces Local Media Personality as Host of 2014 Program

TEDxVancouver is pleased to announce that Riaz Meghji, co-host of City’s Breakfast Television Vancouver, joins the TEDxVancouver team for a second round as host of this year’s event at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre on Saturday, October 18, 2014. In line with the theme of TILT, Meghji will reveal who this year’s speakers really are, and what has pushed them out of their comfort zones to arrive on stage at TEDxVancouver.

“A candid conversation can help reinvent yourself, your brand or your business,” said Riaz Meghji, 2012 host of TEDxVancouver. In fact, his recently launched passion project EveryConversationCounts.com was inspired by working with the team from TEDxVancouver 2012. “This year’s lineup of speakers will share plenty of ideas to shift some perspectives. I look forward to promoting the dialogue and learning from their personal experiences.”

Raised in Delta, B.C., Riaz has been drawn to inspiring and engaging audiences from a young age. With over 12 years of experience in the television industry as a Host, Producer and Speaker, Riaz has conducted interviews with subjects from all walks of life. In his past six years on Breakfast Television Vancouver, Riaz has covered topics in current affairs, philanthropy, entertainment, sports and business, and has previous hosting experience with MTV Canada, CTV News and the Toronto International Film Festival.

Entering its fifth year, TEDxVancouver is the largest TEDx event in the city’s history and one of the longest running TEDx events in the world. This year’s theme is TILT, a concept that challenges the status-quo and the engrained patterns of the human psyche.

Limited tickets are still available at www.tedxvancouver.com.
