Finlandia Vodka & Protect Our Winters partner to fight Climate Change

There is no denying that for the past decade our winters have gradually become shorter and warmer, creating vast changes in the landscape of Canada’s climate. Finlandia Vodka (Finlandia) is pleased to be joining forces with Protect Our Winters (POW), the leading climate change advocacy group for the snow sports community, in an effort to reduce the effects of global climate change. Finlandia believes that if you are kind to nature it will return the favour and has decided to join the movement against climate change by donating one per cent of its total April sales from the British Columbia market to POW.

Dedicated to building an alliance of businesses that are financially committed to creating a healthier planet, 1% for the Planet brings earth-friendly organizations, similar to POW, together with influential brands like Finlandia to support the preservation of a healthy planet. As a long-time advocate for pure water, Finlandia first pledged its support to clean-earth initiatives in 2014 when it began its partnership with 1% for the Planet. Through its collaboration with 1% for the Planet, Finlandia now supports POW’s likeminded mission to protect our winters in a relevant and authentic manner.

To highlight their partnership, Finlandia and POW will be raising a glass to environmental advocacy with winter sports athletes, media and key influencers for an exciting winter sports-fueled event. The occasion will mobilize the winter sports community in Vancouver and Canada to help fund POW’s educational initiatives, advocacy and community based activism campaigns that will help build the growing movement against the impacts of climate change.
