Clocks go back one hour this weekend

Enjoy the last of the late afternoon sun this weekend. On Sunday at 2 a.m., the clocks turn back an hour as Daylight-saving time comes to an end.

According to the National Research Council, clocks spring forward on the second Sunday in March, and fall back on the first Sunday in November.

Enjoy the extra hour of sleep this Sunday, and remember it might be dark on your commute home Monday, as the sun will set around 5 p.m.

Daylight-saving time is four weeks longer than it used to be. It was extended in 2007 to match the U.S.

Drivers should use extra caution this time of year while driving, as pedestrian injuries and fatalities tend to increase as the days get shorter.
