Children’s Wish Foundation & Air Transat flight to the North Pole
It was a Christmas miracle! We’re recently on a secret mission to find Santa in the North Pole. For the past 12 years, Air Transat has partnered up with The Children’s Wish Foundation to create a magical trip for hundreds of sick children and their family with simultaneous flights in Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal. Since 1984, The Children’s Wish Foundation has been granting wishes of children aged 3 to 17 battling with a life threatening illness. To date, the foundation has granted more than 23,000 wishes across Canada.
Air Transat also announce an additional $98,975 donation to Children’s Wish. The money was collected over the past year as part of Air Transat’s Small Change, Big Hearts program and other initiatives, and is in addition to the over $5 million raised for Children’s Wish since the inception of the partnership between the two organizations.
“There is truly nothing better than seeing a child smile in wonderment, and we in turn are delighted to bring a little magic into the lives of hundreds of children across Canada and in France,†said Jean-Francois Lemay, President, Air Transat. “The Flights in Search of Santa is at the core of our partnership with The Children’s Wish Foundation and is the Air Transat family’s favourite event of the year.â€
At 8,000 metres in the air, we were all stamping our feet and singing Christmas carols as we approach Santa’s secret village.
Air Transat Flights in Search of Santa is one of my favourite event to attend. It’s awesome to see all of the kids smiling, laughing and enjoying Christmas with their family and love ones.
