Air Canada Rouge: Introducing Canada’s New Leisure Airline
AirÂ CanadaÂ today unveiled its new leisure airline, marking a milestone in the transformation of Canada’s flag carrier to compete in the growing leisure travel sector. Special introductory fares are available for sale beginning today at aircanada.com and through travel agents. Along with details of the initial destinations it will fly to beginning inÂ July 2013, the name of Canada’s new leisure airline -Â AirÂ CanadaÂ rougeÂ – was announced following a contest launched on Facebook inviting customers, employees and travel industry professionals for their input.Â Details about the contest and prize winners have been posted onÂ facebook.com/aircanada.

For its inaugural 2013 season, AirÂ CanadaÂ rouge will introduce new routes not currently operated by AirÂ CanadaÂ toVenice,Â ItalyÂ andÂ Edinburgh, Scotland.Â In addition, AirÂ CanadaÂ seasonal services fromÂ TorontoÂ andÂ MontrealÂ toAthens,Â GreeceÂ will be flown by the leisure carrier.Â Similarly, existing AirÂ CanadaÂ flights operated in cooperation with AirÂ CanadaÂ Vacations toÂ Cuba, theÂ Dominican Republic,Â JamaicaÂ andÂ Costa RicaÂ will be operated byÂ AirCanadaÂ rougeÂ effectiveÂ July 2013.
