Wolverine introduces Limited Edition Original 1000 Mile Boot with Liberty Art Fabrics

Wolverine, the more than 130-year-old brand known for durable high-quality work boots introduces a limited edition Wolverine 1000 Mile Boot for men and women featuring Liberty Art Fabrics as part of the Wolverine 1000 Mile Collection for Spring 2016.

“Wolverine 1000 Mile and Liberty Art Fabrics make for a perfect partnership; both share a profound respect for their long, rich heritages along with a passion for ingenuity and creating designs that are relevant to people today,” said Martin Shobo, global product line manager for Wolverine’s Heritage Collections including Wolverine 1000 Mile.

This limited edition of Wolverine’s 100-year-old boot pattern is fully lined with Liberty Art Fabrics and is handcrafted in the U.S.A. The colorful and intricate Lady Paisley print is based on a traditional silk scarf from Liberty’s archives that were first printed in the 1950s.

The men’s styles are available in rich red and light brown colorways with a red paisley print lining and feature richly oiled leathers from the renowned Horween Leather Company, traditional Goodyear Welt construction and a leather outsole. The women’s boots are available in a deep red leather from Horween Leather Company and a soft olive suede from Charles Stead Suede with a vibrant fuchsia paisley print lining, and also feature Goodyear Welt construction with a leather outsole. The collection is available at Wolverine1000Mile.com and at select retailers.

A happy hour event at the Wolverine Company Store, 254 Elizabeth St, New York, NY 10012, will be held on Thursday, March 31st to celebrate the launch of the limited edition boot. Complimentary beverages from Brooklyn Gin will be served along with complimentary shoe shines.

Founded in 1883 by G.A. Krause, Wolverine soon revolutionized the industry with the 1000 Mile Boot made from soft and pliable yet durable shell cordovan – a material that no other tannery had been able to produce. Featured in one of the first-ever national advertising campaigns for footwear in the 1920s, Wolverine and the 1000 Mile Boot soon became a signature product for Wolverine and men of the 20th century. Today, Wolverine celebrates its heritage with the Wolverine 1000 Mile Collection, a curated selection of archival-inspired patterns that embody the pillars of Wolverine’s heritage – quality, comfort, durability and style. 

Soon after opening on Regent Street, London in 1875, Arthur Liberty printed the first Liberty fabrics. By the 1890s, Liberty Art Fabrics were a byword for the best of ‘Avant Garde’ textile design, with new and classic designs added each season, the rich heritage of Liberty print continues.
