Review: Jabra REVO Wireless Headphones (Holiday Gift Guide)
I previously reviewed the Jabra Sport Pulse wireless earbuds with a built-in heart rate monitor. I’ve been very impress with Jabra’s innovative headphone line. This time around I’m reviewing the REVO wireless headphones, courtesy of Jabra. Jabra, best known for its bluetooth headsets, is making waves into the premium headphones market with the REVO wireless. The REVO Wireless won the 2013 Red Dot Design award. Its the fourth consecutive year that Jabra had won the award for excellent design. One of the unique feature is the Turntable Touch Control. You simply swipe your finger in a circular motion to control the music player and manage calls.
What’s in the box?
- USB cable
- Protective bag
- 1.2 m detachable 3.5 mm audio cable with integrated remote
Sound
The REVO Wireless headphones not only look good they also sound amazing. With Jabra Sound app, which is available for iOS and Android, you can experience the full spectrum Dolby Digital Plus on your mobile device. The Sound app let you browse and create playlists, adjust the graphic equalizer and stream YouTube videos.
Soundwise, the tonal balance is accurate, stereo imaging is spacious, and dynamic impact is excellent.
Design
The REVO wireless is well-built and have a sturdy design with an aluminum frame, steel hinges, and a shatterproof headband for extreme flexibility. The headphones has been tested to the max: Cable (to 15 kg), Bend (10000 times), Fold (3500 times), Drop (from 2 m). The thick memory foam ear cups were very comfortable throughout the day. The headphones fold into a compact design perfect for traveling.
ConnectivityÂ
The headphones easily pair to any smart phones, laptops and tablets via NFC or Bluetooth. One of the unique feature of the REVO is the Turntable Touch Control. With a touch of your finger, you can turn up or down the volume, skip track, and answer phone call.
To operate the Turntable Touch, you tap twice to skip a track, tap the middle to pause/play a track and answer/end calls and tap down to reject an incoming call.
Comfort
The headphone is super comfortable with a padded headband and plush, memory foam ear cups. More importantly, the ear cups conform to your ears nicely and seal out a good amount of ambient noise.
These are pretty lightweight headphones and they fit snugly on the head without putting too much pressure on your ears.
Conclusion
These headphones look as good as they sound. The REVO wireless has a lot to offer with excellent performance and a very more comfortable fit. With a tap, the REVO seamlessly pair to any smart phone or tablet. The Jabra Sound app work flawlessly to deliver you the best Dolby sound experience. The headphones deliver a good amount of bass & have an impressive battery life of 12 hours. One of my favourite feature is the Turntable Touch Control. You simply swipe your finger in a circular motion to play, skip or pause your music and manage your calls on the go. I highly recommend it to any music lover. It was a pleasure to wear these headphones during my daily commute.
