Quaker Giving New Canadians a Warm Welcome

When my family and I immigrated to Montreal, 15 years ago, it was a challenged learning a new language and adapting to the harsh winter weather. This year, Quaker wants to gift warm winter coat to newcomers as they face their first winter in Canada.

Quaker has a long history of supporting local communities and those who are in need. More than 200,000 newcomers will arrive in Canada and over 100,000 of these newcomers identify as in-need. Many don’t have the essentials to keep warm this winter. Quaker has partnered up with six local settlement agencies across Canada in Nova Scotia, Quebec, Ontario, Winnipeg, Alberta and British Columbia. Immigrant Services Society of BC will help distribute coats in the Lower Mainland.

You can help by purchasing specially marked Quaker instant oatmeal and Chewy granola bars. Quaker will donate $0.05 toward the purchase of new winter coat, up to a maximum of $350,000.
