IKEA’s serving up Zero Waste Takeout with local restaurants across the country

From July 27 to August 20, 2021, IKEA is bringing Zero Waste Takeout to communities across the country to raise awareness of the rising environmental cost of takeout, and to continue empowering Canadians with small everyday actions that can add up to big impact. For one day only, partner restaurants will package all regular takeout orders in IKEA’s 365+ reusable food containers and iconic FRAKTA cooler bags at no extra cost to the restaurant or consumer!

Millions more Canadians are ordering food online at least once a week than before the pandemic. Some of us are tired of our own recipe rotation, or we’re looking for meal inspiration and for some, it’s an opportunity to connect with our community in a small way. Increased takeout has helped many of our favourite restaurants keep their doors open, but it has also brought single-use takeout packaging into more Canadian homes. Every week.
