VANLOVER campaign launch – show your love for downtown Vancouver (video x photo gallery)
As part of ongoing efforts to assist downtown Vancouver businesses impacted by the criminal activities that took place following the Stanley Cup game on June 15th, the Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association (DVBIA) is launching the VANLOVER campaign to encourage Lower Mainland residents to visit, shop, dine and sightsee in downtown Vancouver.
The campaign, which launches Saturday June 18, asks citizens to show their love for downtown by displaying a VANLOVER poster and sharing photos and messages about their downtown experience online. People can “show their love†for downtown on Twitter using hashtag #vanlover and on the DVBIA Facebook page at www.facebook.com/downtownvan. The campaign kicks off on Saturday with a full-page ad in the Vancouver Sun.
“We have been overwhelmed with the outpouring of support from Vancouverites who have reclaimed their downtown over the past two days,†said Charles Gauthier, DVBIA Executive Director. “Thanks to the collaborative efforts of downtown businesses, the City, police, firefighters, paramedics and hundreds of citizen volunteers, downtown is clean, safe and open for business. The next step in our efforts is to encourage people to support the downtown community by shopping, dining, taking in a show or visiting our many landmarks and destinations.â€
