Vancouver Shines Bright On The 25th Anniversary Of The Honda Celebration Of Light

Vancouver is going to shine brighter than ever for the 25th anniversary of the Honda Celebration of Light fireworks festival set for Saturday July 25,Wednesday July 29 and Saturday August 1.

 

The Honda Celebration of Light kicks off Saturday, July 25th with the return of Team China – the modern birthplace of fireworks.  We are pleased to welcome Team Brazil on Wednesday, July 29th – with Rio 2016 just around the corner, we expect quite a show.  Rounding out the event is repeat winner and home favourite, Team Canada on August 1st.

 

“The 25th Anniversary of the Honda Celebration of Light is a testament to the lasting relationship this festival has with the residents of Metro Vancouver,” said the Hon. John D. Reynolds, Chairman of the Vancouver Fireworks Festival Society.  “We are the largest public event in British Columbia and continue to reach out to engage and entertain another generation of fireworks fans.  We have invited three winning pyro teams to celebrate this special occasion in style.”

 

New for the 25th Anniversary – Building on the success of The Keg Lounge and the YVR Observation Deck, the festival is launching the new, licensed, Inukshuk Lounge. Located on the peninsula at English Bay, the Inukshuk Lounge offers a quieter hosting experience for discerning guests.  Also new is the Sunset Beach Bistro, a family- friendly, licensed area in Sunset Beach Park – no tickets required!  The Sunset Beach Bistro will bring back the ever-popular Salmon BBQ to the park and will offer a front row view of the SHOREFEST stage entertainment.  Honda Celebration of Light is pleased to announce that Stanley Park Brewery will be the official beer partner of the event offering Stanley Park beer, Okanagan Spring cider and Mark Anthony wines in the Sunset Beach Bistro, Inukshuk Lounge and YVR Observation Deck.

 

Tickets go on sale for all ticketed viewing areas on April 1 through the festival website.

Fireworks

The 2015 Honda Celebration of Light competition will begin promptly at10:00pm each night, rain or shine, from the barges located in English Bay. Music simulcast can be heard on LG 104.3 FM and through the festival’s mobile app. The winning country will be announced Tuesday, August 4th.

SHOREFEST presented by LG 104.3 FM

The SHOREFEST concert series at English Bay and Sunset Beach returns with free musical performances, including Platinum Blonde on the LG 104.3 Stage in The Keg Lounge.  There will be continuous live entertainment on the Sunset Beach stage beginning at 2pm each day.  More performers will be announced soon.

The Keg Lounge

Located on the Bathhouse Roof in English Bay with a prime view of the fireworks, The Keg Lounge continues to offer a hip, rock ‘n’ roll VIP lounge experience with side stage viewing of performances on the SHOREFEST English Bay Stage.  With capacity of only 450, The Keg Lounge sells out each night.

Regular priced tickets will be $169 after June 1st.

 

The Inukshuk Lounge

Located on the peninsula at English Bay, the Inukshuk Lounge provides the perfect environment to network and chat, with the added benefit of the closest water view of the fireworks spectacular. Featuring guaranteed seating, musical simulcast of the fireworks soundtrack, cash bar service, private washroom facilities and a laid back vibe, the Inukshuk Lounge is the fresh new place to be.

YVR Observation Deck

The YVR Observation Deck is custom built bleacher-style seating in the heart of the action at English Bay. This all-ages, licensed area offers reserved seats with prime sightlines to the fireworks, musical simulcast of the fireworks soundtrack, cash bar service, private washroom facilities, food service and giveaways.

YVR Business Class Cabanas in the YVR Observation Deck

New this year!
