The International Day of the Dead Tour and exhibit on Granville Island Bringing World Class Artists Together
An international array of artists will share their interpretations of death according to their unique culture, traditions and artistic style. Curated by Mexican artist Ari De La Mora, conceived by Barbara Chirinos, Executive Director of the Granville Island Cultural Society and presented by the Granville Island Business and Community Association, the International Day of the Dead Tour and Exhibit is a model of cultural collaboration. The Tour and Exhibit will be held from September 27 to November 8, 2015 in window fronts of businesses throughout Granville Island.
Opening on the last day of Culture Days, this free exhibition and tour will be accessible to the public through the participation and support of: Granville Island Business and Community Association, the Granville Island Cultural Society, the Bill Reid Gallery of Contemporary First Nations art, Simon Fraser University, Artisans Association Xasasti Yolistli in the state of Puebla, Mexico and documentary makers from the group Telemanita in the state of Morelos, Mexico.
