“Welcome to Harlem! Celebrating the Renaissance” is the second production for Rooted Theatre Productions. This Vancouver based Black theatre company takes you back to the 1920s and 30s for a musical and poetic ride through the Harlem Renaissance. African Americans were being recognized for their intellect and significant contributions to American culture during the Harlem Renaissance. This served as the springboard for actors, musicians, poets, artists, and writers of fiction.

By turning Calabash Bistro into a speakeasy, this new theatre company’s all star cast will be serving up a soul food buffet, music, poetry, dance and so much more.
