Original Bridal Swap at Yaletown Roundhouse – April 27, 2014

Vancouver’s Original Bridal Swap returns to the Roundhouse Community Centre on April 27, 2014 and online registration is now open at www.bridalswap.ca. Returning for its 4th edition, this event enables past brides to sell gently used wedding décor items & dresses to those planning weddings in the future.

Created in 2011 by Sarah Shore and Geneve McNally of DreamGroup Productions, the Original Bridal Swap was the first event of its kind in Canada, and remains its largest to date. With an average 2013 Canadian wedding costing over $35,000.00, the organizers’ priority is to help brides save money, but also to make weddings more sustainable by encouraging recycling.

“At DreamGroup, we’ve been planning weddings for 10 years, and we love being able to bring this event to the Past Brides & Brides to be. The energy of Brides on the hunt for their wedding treasures is exciting.” explains Sarah Shore, Co-producer. “In our first year, we had over 700 attendees, and the number has grown every year – with both past brides selling, and future brides hunting for opportunities to save.”

With items ranging from consignment wedding dresses, glassware, table linens and runners, bird cages, chalkboards, and many other décor items, the Original Bridal Swap has lots for the Brides to hunt for. This year, the show introduces its Designer Dress Series, which includes gently used dresses from Vera Wang, Monique Lhuillier, Ramona Keveza, Nicole Miller and many other sought after designers. These dresses are on sale for 50% off the retail price which means a Bride can have a designer gown at a fraction of the price!

The event takes place at the Roundhouse Community Centre on April 27 from 11am-5pm, and online registration is now available at www.bridalswap.ca. Past brides can register for dress consignment or a table to sell their items, and future brides can purchase tickets.
