Free Admission Day to TELUS World of Science on December 3, 2011

To thank the community for its support, Science World will be waiving the admission price for all visitors to TELUS World of Science on Saturday, December 3, 2011. The special event is made possible thanks to presenting sponsor The James Dyson Foundation and supporting sponsor Encana Corporation.

“We are extremely grateful for the outstanding support, dedication, and patience of our community over the last year”and”a”half as we’ve undergone renovations,” says Bryan Tisdall, Science World’s president and CEO. “This free day is our way of saying thank you. It’s also our chance to show off what we’ve been up to behind the hoarding walls and construction barriers.”

Visitors will be able to explore Science World’s new spaces at TELUS World of Science, including the 11,000 square foot Eureka! Gallery, the bigger and better Search Gallery, and the new Our World Gallery that overlooks what will become the Ken Spencer Science Park. Construction on the park has already started and it is expected to open in spring 2012.

Science World’s facility has undergone a $35 million renovation over the past year”and”a”half. The renovation has added on 30,000 square feet of space, a green roof, and numerous energy”efficient initiatives. The organization is still raising the last $3 million to complete the renewal.

“We’re looking forward to seeing everyone on Saturday,” says Tisdall. “Whether it’s your first visit or your fiftieth, we hope you’ll be inspired by your experience with us.”
