Get your flags ready! Canada Day is on its way again and as always we’ll be throwing the best party in the city! With free jazz performances courtesy of Coastal Jazz and Blues Society, face painting, roving characters, tattoos, a parade, and more, this is a birthday bash that everyone can enjoy! We’ll be posting all the event details on the website soon, so stay tuned and make sure you save the date; July 1st on Granville Island is an event you don’t want to miss!

13th Annual Canada Day Parade | Free
Participate in the most colourful parade ever! This year we present The Carnival Band, spectacular stilt dancers, lion dancers, and you! Join in on your decorated bike at the end of the parade so stilt dancers can safely lead the way. Get ready to cheer! 1:30pm — 2pm Starting at Ocean Construction and ending at Ron Basford Park
Official Canada Day Ceremony | Free
Make sure you exercise those vocal chords so you can belt out our national anthem loud and proud! Enjoy Canada Day cake for kids, compliments of the Dockside Restaurant. 2pm — 2:30pm Ron Basford Park, Johnston Street
MELA! Festivals International Pavilion presented by Times Telecom
Lively bazaar, music, dance and mouth watering food from around the world. 11am — 7pm Under the Crane, East of Emily Carr University of Art and Design

Kokoma African Heritage Ensemble
Kokoma’s high-energy and interactive performances renew and sustain the ancient rhythms and dances of Africa, exciting the eyes, engaging the spirit, and energizing the soul! Performances in French and English. 2pm — 3pm Picnic Pavilion
Pastiche
A potpourri of west coast originals with traditional songs from Quebec and France. Performances in French and English. 4pm — 5pm Picnic Pavilion
