BrazilFest 2010 Set to Captivate Vancouver

BrazilFest aims to promote Brazil’s uniqueness by sharing our cuisine, lifestyle and culture, a culture that complements the diverse mosaic that makes up Canada.

The festival will showcase the best Brazil has to offer in music, rhythm, dance, art, soccer, food and cinema.

BrazilFest’s diverse program includes dance and theatre arts (Capoeira, Modern Ballet, Samba); music (Bossa Nova, Choro, Axé Music, Pop, Rock & Roll); performances (Carnaval, Freestyle Soccer, Batucada); visual arts (Paintings, Drawings) and cinema.

The festival will showcase the best Brazil has to offer in music, dance, art, tourism, food and film. It includes a feast of rhythms and music in downtown Vancouver, an art exhibition at the Gathering Place Art Gallery and a screening of one of the most acclaimed Brazilian movies of 2010.

BrazilFest will also raise funds to support the Vila Isabel Charitable Society in Brazil, which is making a difference to the lives of children in Citrolandia in Minas Gerais by fostering their development and improving living conditions.

Brazil Fest is this Saturday, August 21st from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM between Robson and Georgia in Downtown Vancouver.
