Annual Coats for Kids Christmas Charity Event with Bachelorette Star Jillian Harris – December 6, 2012

HGTV host, star of ABC’s Extreme Makeover Home Edition, interior designer, and former bachelorette Jillian Harris will be the special guest at the annual Coats for Kids charity event on December 6th, hosted by Urban Body Laser. Proceeds will go to the Salvation Army and Beauty Night, an organization that empowers women and children living in poverty to help build their self-esteem through wellness, skill development, and makeovers.

“Women of all ages struggle with self-esteem. Trying to deal with personal insecurities while living in poverty must be extremely difficult to handle, especially for kids and teenagers;” say Janiece Wiens of Urban Body Laser. “This event aims to raise awareness and support so these women can feel valued, respected, and beautiful inside and out.”

Along with a minimum $20 donation, guests are encouraged to bring coats, toys, and non-perishable food items. In return, Urban Laser will give $150 worth of free services. Guests will also have the opportunity to win door prizes and take part in a silent auction.

“We are so thrilled to have Jillian Harris in attendance. The confidence she exudes makes her a great role model for young women,” said Wiens.

The event will take place on December 6th from 4:00 to 8:00pm at Urban Body Laser, 860-777 Hornby Street, Vancouver, BC.
