The Kitsilano by Karoleena Homes: Architecturally designed from top to bottom by Seattle’s Balance Associates, Architects and precision built in Karoleena’s state-of-the-art indoor manufacturing facility in Calgary, The Kitsilano is truly a wonder of the modern home-building world. Come tour this home stylish interiors by Urban Barn, gorgeous stainless-steel appliances by LG, and stunning landscaping from Arcon Outdoor Designs.
The HGTV Main Stage: Home Organization to Renovation, local experts and HGTV celebs such as Bryan Baeumler and W Network’s Hilary Farr, host of Love it or List it will offer insight and advice on the start-to-finish progress for a plethora of little projects they’re working on. Watch, be wowed and see show-goers walk away with big ideas for little projects. Also appearing Tom Boy Tools, Lori Mitchell and Interior Stylist, Janette Ewen!
Dream Gardens: We’re getting our hands dirty this spring with gardening trends that have just sprouted up. Local landscaping experts will show attendees how to turn that pile of dirt into blooming roses and blossoming begonias. The Dream Gardens will inspire and revive wilted flower patches and turn backyard browns into springtime greens. BC’s top landscapers will be on hand to answer questions about landscaping styles, planting tips and more. Show-goers will leave with a newly developed green thumb that is sure to impress their neighbours.
The Ultimate Man’s Backyard: Build the ultimate man’s backyard and be the envy of your buddies. From outdoor kitchens and a putting green from Precision Greens to a Coast Spas hot tub big enough to fit an entire entourage, the men who stop by may never leave. Ask a Decorator presented by Dulux Paints & One Look, Four Seasons: It may seem like autumn all year around, but don’t let the Vancouver rain get you down. Redesign your space for the seasons you long to experience, with simple updates both you and the handy-person in your life can take on! Get unique decorating tips on how to simply and stylishly transform a room through the seasons, from Vancouver’s own Friendly Decorator, Christine Friend. And bring your decorating questions and photos to Ask a Decorator and get free advice!
Luxe Loo’s: The sight of a porta potty is sure to make you cringe, so as you build your perfect-yet-rustic Gulf Island Island getaway, think outside of the typical “outhouse” box. Vancouver Sun Gardeners’ School: At the Vancouver Sun Gardener’s School, visitors will learn the ABCs of gardening with help from local experts. “Classes” will be held on everything from pest control to seed planting and composting. There is no test for the show-goers but we’re sure they will all get an A+ in horticulture after spending some quality time with west coast experts, local authors and gardening innovators. Here’s to being in the top of the class!
DesignLab: Design is an art & a science and most of us are guilty of committing common design mistakes. DesignLab is where you can utilize mood boards and quizzes to find your style before you start a renovation. Experts will be on hand-hand to dissect the anatomy of good vs bad design and be ready to assist you with your home design needs and questions.
Renovation Gallery: The Greater Vancouver Home Builders’ Association (GVHBA) presents the ever-popular Renovation Gallery with 1,000 square feet of exhibit space showcasing before-and-after photos of professional renovations that will educate and inspire. Pros will be on hand to answer all your renovation questions.
Opening Night Housewarming Party: We are going to kick off our return to BC Place Stadium with a good old-fashioned housewarming party! Be immersed in Home + Garden entertainment including a pulled pork cook-off, music from ROCK 101 and samples from ManCakes Bakery! Consider it our version of a tailgate party, tailored to every home and gardener out there. You’ll give it two green thumbs up!
