10,000 runners from around the world participate in lululemon’s SeaWheeze Half Marathon

More than 10,000 runners crossed the finish line today in lululemon’s SeaWheeze half marathon in Vancouver. Approximately 70 per cent of the runners travelled to the event from outside of the province – with nearly half of the participants coming from across Canada, the United States and from as far as Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand and South America.

This year’s first place male and female runners broke previous course records – James Lander (M) from the U.S. came in at 1:10:15, 37 seconds faster than the 2014 record and Arianne Raby (F) from Montreal, QC, came in at 1:19:01, 7 seconds faster than record from 2015.

The weekend isn’t over yet. lululemon’s Sunset Festival at Brockton Oval in Stanley Park is tonight beginning at 4:30pm. Organizers are expecting a sell out event with 15,000 runners, yogis and music lovers to attend. In addition, festival-goers also can visit the local artisan market and enjoy food and beverage from local purveyors, including the SeaWheeze signature beer, Courageous Blonde. Sunset Festival Tickets are still available for the general public $45.00 CAD, taxes included.
