2018 Ford EcoSport at Vancouver International Auto Show
Ford of Canada introduced the all new 2018 Ford EcoSport at Vancouver International Auto Show. The EcoSport is an entry-level, compact SUV designed for millennials. Despite being small, it has plenty of cabin & storage space. It is powered by 1.0 liter turbocharged EcoBoost three cylinder with front wheel drive, while a 2.0 liter EcoBoost four cylinder with all wheel drive is optional.
The EcoSport’s new 8.0 inch touchscreen infotainment system is powered by Ford’s Sync 3 with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration. With FordPass, drivers can locate, start, lock, and unlock their vehicle from their smartphone. The Titanium model boats a 675 watt B&O Play audio system by Harman with 10 speakers, door mounted tweeters and a rear subwoofer.
The EcoSport’s big brother, the Expedition has been completely redesigned for 2018. The 2018 Ford Expedition has switched to an aluminum body to save weight. It is 300 pounds lighter than the previous model.
The new Expedition is equipped with the latest driver assist technologies like 360 degree camera, parking sensors, backup assist, lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, pre-collision warning with automatic braking, and blind-spot monitoring.
Ford is also showcasing their new Ford Performance line up from Ford Raptor to Ford Focus RS. Everyone’s favourite is the $450,000 2017 Ford GT. Each Ford GT is hand assemble by Canada’s Multimatic in Markham, Ontario and only 250 supercars are built per year.
Under the hood, the Ford GT is powered by twin turbocharged 3.5 liter EcoBoost V6 producing 647 horsepower and 550 pound feet of torque.
The GT is the fastest production car in Ford history with a top speed of 216 mph (318 km/h).
