A Spring Weekend at Toronto’s Kimpton Saint George: Museums, Wine, and Yorkville Walks

Spring is the best time to visit Toronto. The winter chill finally breaks, patio season kicks off, and the city feels alive. If you’re planning a quick weekend escape, choosing the right base makes all the difference.

The Kimpton Saint George sits right on the edge of Bloor-Yorkville and the Annex. This location gives you the perfect mix of quiet residential streets and high-end shopping. Inside, the hotel feels more like a chic, welcoming home. Warm wood details and local art make you want to linger.

We stayed in the 1 King room, a 290-square-foot space that feels both cozy and functional. The design balances cool-toned walls with a custom wood armoire and soft Frette sheets.

The bathroom features a spacious walk-in shower and luxury Atelier Bloem amenities. When you arrive, don’t forget to look inside the closet. The hotel hides a small tribute to Toronto’s famous white squirrels from Trinity Bellwoods Park, which is a fun touch.

One of the best perks of this location is the cultural partnership with the Bata Shoe Museum across the street. The hotel’s museum package includes two general admission tickets. Even if you aren’t a fashion expert, the collection is fascinating. It showcases thousands of shoes across four galleries, tracking how footwear evolved from ancient times to modern streetwear.

You can easily spend an hour or two wandering the exhibits before heading back across Bloor Street. It makes for a perfect afternoon activity.

Back at the hotel, you’ll find plenty of thoughtful extras. Every evening from 5 to 6 p.m., the lobby hosts a social hour with complimentary wine. It’s a relaxed way to transition into dinner.

In the morning, grab coffee or tea from the lobby credenza before you head out. Borrow one of the hotel’s complimentary PUBLIC cruiser bikes to explore the city like a local. The front desk can give you a map of the best routes. Biking is a great way to see the nearby University of Toronto campus or pedal down to Harbourfront.

If you want a weekend trip that balances local culture with genuine comfort, this spot delivers. Book the package, pack a light jacket, and enjoy spring in Toronto.
