adidas Terrex Agravic TT Review: Stable, Fast, and Ready for the Gnarly Stuff

If you run trails in British Columbia, you know the terrain rarely stays smooth for long. One minute you’re on a packed dirt path. The next you’re scrambling over wet roots, loose rock, or steep, muddy descents. Standard trail shoes just don’t cut it here.

adidas recently launched the Terrex Agravic TT, and it’s built for those gnarly, technical sections.

The “TT” stands for Technical Terrain. While some trail shoes prioritize speed on fire roads, this one focuses on control. It has a broader base than many racing models, which helps keep your feet planted when the ground feels uneven or unpredictable. When you’re deep into a long run and your legs are tired, that extra stability makes a real difference.

Underfoot, adidas uses a blend of Lightstrike Pro and Lightstrike+ foams. A soft, responsive layer sits directly under your foot, while a firmer bottom layer acts as a supportive cradle. There’s also a rock plate inside that prevents sharp stones from poking through on long mountain days.

Grip is another highlight. The outsole uses Continental rubber, which stays sticky even on wet trails. Deep, multi-directional 4.5 mm lugs bite into soft mud and loose gravel, giving you more confidence to push on descents.

The upper is reinforced with tough fibres to handle scraping against granite or dense brush without tearing. It fits securely, keeping your foot from sliding around when you’re moving through tight, technical corners.
