UNIQLO and Metropolis at Metrotown Create Pop-up Fitting Rooms Made of Ice for Vancouverites

Japanese casual apparel brand, UNIQLO, together with Metropolis at Metrotown are giving Vancouverites the chance to win free HEATTECH innerwear to combat the West Coast winter chill, by trying it on in a fitting room made of ice.

The pop-up ice fitting rooms will be open from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 9 at an event dubbed Chill+ Cheer at Queen Elizabeth Plaza. Made out of just under four tonnes of opaque ice, the changing rooms provide the perfect frosty factor for testing UNIQLO HEATTECH items.

HEATTECH is innerwear that offers a smooth, fine feel to the skin and provides incredible comfort. Made of a revolutionary fabric using innovative moisture-wicking, anti-odour fabrics that works with your body to keep you warm and comfortable all day, meaning you can play out in the cold without the bulky layers. The innovative fabric absorbs body heat and retains warmth in tiny air pockets between the woven fibres. It quickly dries by absorbing and releasing moisture on the skin. It is an innovation that has changed the way we dress.

Those who get their hands on their new HEATTECH innerwear will also be able to prove that they braved the elements by posing at the ice photo wall, complete with snow. The giveaway will be running while quantities last, with more opportunities to win gift cards from UNIQLO and Metropolis at Metrotown.

In addition to giving away HEATTECH at the Ice Fitting Rooms, UNIQLO Canada has donated a range of warm clothing to Vancouver’s Covenant House, who provides love and hope to homeless youth aged 16 –24 who have fled physical, emotional and sexual abuse, those who have been forced from their homes or those who have aged out of foster care.
