Heritage Vancouver mansion on sale for $10.5M

The 20,728 square foot Casa Mia mansion in Vancouver is for sale for $10.5 million

A Vancouver mansion that has been a part of the city’s rich history since the 1930’s is up for sale — again — for a cool $10.5 million.

The 20,728 square foot Casa Mia is a Spanish revival heritage mansion located on Southwest Marine Drive and overlooks the Fraser River.

The eight bedroom, eight bathroom Southlands home boasts a two-storey grand staircase and luxurious outdoor swimming pool. A ballroom with both men’s and women’s bathrooms is on the lower level.

If that’s not your bag, there’s also a large theatre room, billiards room, game room and bar on the lower level.

The iconic mansion was built in 1932 for a man by the name of George Reifel, a liquor magnate and rum runner during prohibition. He also opened the Commodore Ballroom in downtown Vancouver.

Casa Mia has been on the market before.

The home was listed for sale in 2007 for $12 million and again a year later for $10.5 million. Both times a buyer could not be found and the listing expired.

Taxes on the property total just over $40,000 last year.
