Eat Your Words, Vancouver! Feastro the Rolling Bistro

“In my experience, food and passion always intertwine. Passion is food for the soul’s mood at any particular time.”

When it come to trends, food trucks have hit the #hashtag. There’s something foodies just love about lining up outside in the rain or shine and awkwardly eating while standing up. Maybe it’s the fascination of how two people can create, cook, and serve in such tiny conditions. The way they dance around one another in a confined space like a well choreographed sequence and pop out incredible food at fair prices.

Food trucks are like hot dog vendors on steroids yet the unpretentious alternative to stuffy cafes and over priced restaurants. It’s fast food yet good food, made from scratch with fresh and local ingredients, and most importantly, with love and passion. Because let’s face it, there’s nothing glamorous about working in a food truck. It’s a tough job, so you gotta love what you’re turning out.

Located at the foot of Thurlow & West Cordova,  you’ll find Feastro the Rolling Bistro, where Paul and Steve have put their two favourite passions: food and people, under one giant box on wheels. Located in a sea of office towers, fancy hotels, and upscale dining, you’ll see suits, tourists, and regular folk looking to score any of their daily specials. These guys switch it up each day, so you never know what that fresh sheet will read. From Manhattan Clam Chowder to Prawn and Proscuitto tacos, you can wheel both for $4.50.

Speaking of, these also have a permanent spot on their menu. A single taco is $4.50, and comes in fish, tuna, pulled pork or jerk chicken.

And from now until January 27th,  head to the Vancouver Art Gallery to gather and sample food prepared by 13 different vendors  at the second annual Street Food City. There are even heaters, tents, seating and music — a rare treat for meals on wheels! Feastro will be there serving a Slow Roasted Pulled Pork Confit taco with star anise tomato chutney, hand cut salsa, sour cream, and fresh avocado for $3.

Paul and Steve, you’re awesome. #JustSayin
