Japandroids win Vancouver Canucks entrance song contest, beat out Nickelback

Vancouver rock duo Japandroids have beat out Nickelback, Guns N’ Roses, Volbeat, Static in the Stars and DJ MEG in the Vancouver Canucks NU2 Project contest to determine the team’s new entrance music.

Japandroids’ “The House That Heaven Built” will be played for two home games, replacing U2’s “Where The Streets Have No Name.”

The Canucks’ tweeted the news before last night’s game against the Phoenix Coyotes, it wasn’t even close.

“There it is! @Japandroids won Project NU2 – and by a long shot. #Canucks.”
