Contest! Tony Orlando returns to Vancouver for a one-night appearance
One of the most beloved performers, representing a generation of iconic music and entertainment, Tony Orlando returns to Greater Vancouver for one night only on April 9 at 8 pm at the Hard Rock Casino in Coquitlam, 2080 United Blvd.
Best known for his 70s billboard hits Candida, Knock Three Times, and Tie a Yellow Ribbon, Tony Orlando, backed by a powerhouse of musicians, will deliver a collection of his chart topping favorites as well as legendary covers, promising a nostalgic and high-energy throwback, flavored with historic show business flair.
In a career that spans over five decades, Orlando has managed to do it all in the entertainment business. From working as a record company executive, producer, actor and singer, he has continually wowed audiences with his ingratiating presence and stage stealing, humorous narrative style. Many too will remember Orlando from his primetime, popular television series, Tony Orlando & Dawn, which ran from 1974 to 1976. His variety show was a favorite for families who gathered to watch Orlando perform with some of the top artists of all time, and which today recalls fond memories for many.
A consummate showman with mentors including Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis, Tony Orlando has always remained true to his fans. He has earned a reputation for going out of his way to please his audience, says promoter and owner of Vancouver’s Federico’s Supper Club, Federico Fuoco. “Tony loves his fans and dedicates his time to meeting as many of them as he can. When he performed at the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver in 1975, he vowed to sign every autograph requested. It took him seven hours to fulfill that promise but he did it and with a smile,” Fuoco says.
