Contest! Lunar New Year celebrations at Wesbrook Village offer entertaining family fun with a focus on Chinese culture
The streets of Wesbrook Village will be alive with family-friendly fun and rich culture to celebrate the Chinese New Year on February 21.
With the excitement of the new lunar year building, this event offers festivities and entertainment for students, adults and families alike. A traditional lion dance will start at Norman Mackenzie Square and weave its way through the community. The lion dance will be followed by a variety of colourful performances including a mix of classic and modern Chinese and Korean dancing.
Wesbrook Village shops will distribute Lunar New Year red envelopes and visitors can enter to win an $88 Wesbrook Village shopping spree. Kids will enjoy a fun and educational crafts workshop and families can join a guided forest walk through Pacific Spirit Park. Visitors will also enjoy samples of delicious traditional treats, including the Doughgirls Comfort Kitchen & Bakeshop Lunar New Year coconut bun.
Parking at Wesbrook Village is free and the community is on the number 41 bus route.
