Axé Capoeira Vancouver will be hosting their third annual Afro-Brazilian Carnaval on Sunday, July 28, 2013, along Granville Street (between Georgia and Smithe Streets). Thousands of people are expected for a full day of performances including traditional Afro-Brazilian folkloric dances, music, and Capoeira, culminating in a huge Brazilian street party not to be missed!
Featuring world class capoeiristas, musicians, and dancers from around the world, Axé Capoeira will put on an unforgettable show that will blow the Granville strip away. Whether for the deliciously authentic Brazilian fare, the popular interactive kids show, the riveting movements of capoeira, or the bloodpumping, dance-till-you-drop music, all those who come out will find plenty to stay for.

Capoeira is a one of a kind martial art that combines aspects of self defense, acrobatics, music and dance. Uniquely Brazilian in its origins, it combines these various art forms into one synergistic martial art training experience.
