2013 Vancouver International Wine Festival Tickets - Going, Going, … get them before they’re gone

Going, Going, … get them before they’re gone by the Traveling Gourmand for Hello Vancity

Absolutely the hottest ticket(s) in town right now are the tickets for those terrific events of the Vancouver International Wine Festival.

Winery dinners, lunches, grazing, mingling and seminars are currently up for grabs at VanWineFest.ca available 24/7 online this year or through the VanWineFest box office at (604) 873-3311 Toll free at 1-877-321-3121 or in person at #305 – 456 West Broadway, Vancouver (Monday – Friday 9:30 am – 5:00 pm)

With six events (at time of this writing) already completely SOLD OUT make sure you don’t miss out.

In less than 36 hours into sales the ever popular Dine Italia, True Blend: Antinori & Antica, Vintner’s Brunch, Signorello @ Blue Water Café, 25 Under $25, and A Joseph Phelps Celebration at West Restaurant are sellouts.

Despair not there are many more fabulous events with tickets left. Winery dinners for your consideration include: From Burrard to Road 13 Fleuri Restaurant, Long Shadows: A Glowbal Voyage Coast Restaurant, Natural Balance: Bonterra and Oru Oru Restaurant at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel, A Tour of California MARKET by Jean Georges, Bella Napa Cioppino’s Mediterranean Grill, Cal-Italian Escape Don Francesco Ristorante, Celebrate a California Icon The Boathouse at Kits Beach, Chateau Olivier at Le Gavroche Le Gavroche, Fontodi and Hawksworth Hawksworth Restaurant, The Secret of Stags’ and Etude The Secret Location, Wagner Family of Wine At CinCin CinCin Ristorante + Bar, Canadian Wine Awards Dinner Edible Canada at the Market, Gaga for Bottega at Siena Siena Trattoria, and Pure Delight! Mission Hill & Brix Brix Restaurant & Wine Bar.

Lunches with tickets available: Savour California Flavour VCC West, Ballroom D, Aussie Barbie Vancouver Rowing Club, B.C. Paired: Indulge Your Senses Provence Marinaside, New Zealand – Passionate Pairings! The Boathouse at Kits Beach, and Raise a Glass for Argentina Lift Bar Grill View.

Minglers with tickets available: California Cruisin’ Brix Restaurant, and A Chardonnay Kitchen Party Miele Showroom.

Flavours of the Festival, a Sunday brunch held at the Fairmont Waterfront still available.

Wine Seminars also with tickets available: Blind Tasting Challenge, Cinq Cepages Vertical Tasting, All About Chardonnay, Ridge Revealed, Regional Superstars of CaliforniaA Taste of Tradition: Lanson, Napa Valley RocksSomona Face-Off: Pinot vs Zin, and Meet your Match. Held various offsite locations and VCC West.

But act fast because every event at the Vancouver International Wine Festival is a winner. You absolutely can’t go wrong no matter your choice. Prices vary from outright cheap to lofty so do your homework and then jump in to make your choices while there is still such a good assortment of events available.

International Tasting Room your best bet is usually the Thursday evening, notable although not a weekend, the number of wineries and pourings will equal the other nights but with fewer tickets sold and less crowds.

Keeping in mind the top sellers are always Friday and Saturday night at the International Tasting Room so get on that now. Don’t be disappointed.

Finally, last but not least, tickets are still available for Bacchanalia Gala Dinner + Auction held at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver.

My own recommendations for anyone still having an understandably hard time choosing: Blind Tasting Challenge, Meet your Match, Somona, Face-Off: Pinot vs Zin, A Chardonnay Kitchen Party, Aussie Barbie, A Tour of California, Flavours of the Festival, and Natural Balance: Bonterra and Oru.

Please act quickly as tickets are going fast for all the remaining events. (availability accurate as of early evening January 9) More updates to come so check back often at hellovancity.com.
