KitsFest is Vancouver’s new summer tradition. This 3-day event celebrates sports and healthy living through a variety of competitive sports tournaments including; basketball, tennis and volleyball. This year, the KitsFest is proud to feature a new sport sanctioned by the US Tennis Association (USTA) – Beach Tennis.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the 2010 Vancouver Zombiewalk has been officially announced for August 21st 2010 at 4:30 PM!

Police in downtown Vancouver watched helplessly from the sidelines Saturday afternoon as an army of the living dead gathered en mass to search for nourishing human brains.

Well, almost.

On the south side of the Vancouver Art Gallery at 750 Hornby Street, participants gathered for the Vancouver Zombie Walk — a growing annual event that has become known as the New Years celebration of the Goth community.

“We are protesting human stupidity,” parade marshal Ashton Green said Saturday. “We are protesting all the things that will lead to an apocalypse – zombie or otherwise.”

The 100th Anniversary PNE Parade will take place on Friday, August 20th at 7pm, the night before the Fair opens.

The one-time special event will see 100 years of PNE magic travel along the picturesque Beach Avenue in English Bay from Stanley Park to Sunset Beach. Part of the city-wide celebration of the 2010 PNE, this parade will be unlike anything ever seen in Vancouver – paying tribute to all the special memories and highlights of the Fair’s 10 decades of history.
