Photography & Contemplation at VisualSpace on October 6, 2012

Many renowned photographers, after a life-time of applying their craft, have written about their art and life in contemplative terms. Within a 3 hour interactive multimedia presentation Brian Harris explores a wide range of photographer’s images and insights in light of Buddhist contemplative concepts.

“The camera is an instrument that teaches people how to see without a camera.” Dorothea Lange

“Just as the photographer adores and follows the light that reveals the subject’s beauty, so does the contemplative seek and cherish the illuminating inner light of Wisdom.” Brian Harris (brianharrisphotography.net)

“As a gifted photographer with Buddhist sensibilities Brian thoughtfully explores photography as a contemplative practice. He shares wholeheartedly the insights that can come from “seeing” with the heart and mind as well as the eye. Brian’s focus on cultivating present moment awareness deepens both the experience and art of the photographer.” Sandy Goettler (past workshop participant)
