New Year’s Eve Snowshoe at Dog Mountain (photo gallery)

New Year’s Eve snowshoe at Dog Mountain, Mount Seymour Provincial Park on December 31, 2011. The trail, which starts at the edge of the ski-boundary, is an easy round trip of 5 km, and a great place to introduce people to either hiking or snowshoeing. The minimal elevation gain along the trail means the path is mostly flat, with gentle hills here and there, so there are opportunities for rest for those who need. It’s a really popular trail because of its proximity to Downtown Vancouver.
